Travel Planning
Flights
We recommend booking a flight that arrives at the Seville Airport / Aeropuerto de Sevilla–San Pablo (SVQ) in Seville, Sapin. The better deals are often found in advance so we encourage you to book as soon as possible.
Start
Our tour will begin at 2pm local time on the start date at the SVQ Airport. Please plan to arrive by 2pm or earlier that day, in order to be picked up at the airport along with the rest of the group.
End
Our tour will end back at the SVQ where the journey began. We will arrive by 4pm local time on the last day of the tour, so participants can book a flight out anytime that evening or we can drop you off at a nearby location.
Weather
The Southern Spain Ecovillage Tour takes place in early May—a beautiful time to experience Andalusia’s vibrant landscapes and communities.
Expect plenty of sunshine and dry weather, with daytime temperatures typically between 24°C and 30°C (75°F to 86°F). Some inland areas can reach up to 35°C (95°F), while coastal regions stay a bit cooler thanks to the sea breeze.
Evenings are pleasantly mild, usually around 15°C to 20°C (59°F to 68°F), ideal for dining outdoors and enjoying the long, golden sunsets of the Mediterranean spring.
Packing
A full packing list will be provided after booking the tour. Laundry service will be available at some of our locations. We ask that you only bring a day pack and one carry-on sized luggage due to limited space in our vehicle.
We recommend packing breathable clothing, a sun hat, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes to stay cool and enjoy the tour's immersive experiences under the Spanish sun. Please pack a light scarf (for coverage from the sun and to dip in cold water.) Don’t forget your bathing suit for swimming!

Fernando Manzanares
Fernando is a passionate community facilitator and ecovillage enthusiast, with years of experience in the Iberian Ecovillage Network (RIE) and in regenerative projects across Europe. With a background in architecture, group facilitation, and community living, he has managed colivings, coordinated Erasmus+ youth exchanges, and created spaces where people feel at home and connected.
He lived for a period at El Molino de Guadalmesí, a community close to his heart where he still returns often to spend time, host, and facilitate projects. Deeply committed to sustainability, permaculture, and regenerative cultures, Fernando brings together his love for nature, food, and human connection to craft transformative experiences. He believes in the power of community to inspire personal and collective change, and he is excited to guide participants through Spain’s vibrant ecovillage landscape.
His intention for this journey is to not only discover inspiring projects, but also to co-create a strong group spirit, share meaningful conversations, and have fun together, experiencing first-hand what it’s like to live in community.
Rosanna Lopes
After traveling the world as a digital nomad for 10 years, Rosanna became increasingly interested in intentional communities. Today, she spends much of the year living in and contributing to communities, primarily at Tamera and Traditional Dream Factory in Portugal, as well as in São Luís, a transition town.
Rosanna feels a strong connection with nature and is exploring what it means to become a guardian of the places we inhabit. She is particularly interested in systems change and the potential for regional networks to create new, regenerative ways of living that can offer meaningful alternatives to mainstream systems.
Her training includes intensive courses in Community Building, Permaculture, Conflict Resolution, Dragon Dreaming, Post-Capitalist Futures, and Ecovillage Design. But some of her greatest learning has come from living within communities, collaborating with them, and experiencing their realities firsthand.
Alongside volunteering, contributing to communities, and guiding tours, Rosanna works as an online community manager.
She approaches each tour with the same curiosity as the participants, knowing that every community offers something new to discover. She is excited to learn, explore, and share the journey with the group.
Karima Heredia
Karima’s path has long been connected to people, nature, creativity, and alternative ways of living. Over the years, she has lived in and collaborated with ecovillages, spiritual communities, and urban collectives in different countries, learning from the people and projects creating new ways of living together.
Alongside guiding, Karima is an Eco-Art Therapist and Qi Gong facilitator and has spent the past several years facilitating community and psychosocial projects with teens and adults in diverse international contexts.
These experiences shape the way she guides…with curiosity, openness, and attention to the human side of community life. Her approach explores not only what a community has created, but how people relate, collaborate, create, and find belonging within it.
For Karima, an ecovillage tour is an opportunity to meet the people behind each community, listen to their stories, ask meaningful questions, and discover what might resonate with each participant’s own path.
She believes every community has countless ways to teach, innovate, and inspire, and is delighted to explore them alongside the group.
Reviews
Read authentic reviews to make informed decisions about your journey.
Some experiences quietly rearrange something inside you. This was one of them.
The guides deserve special mention. Not just for their competence but for their warmth and their clear investment in turning strangers into something more cohesive. Watching that happen organically was one of the most quietly profound parts of the trip. By the end, we had become something like a small body, collective enough that you could actually feel when someone was missing from the table.
The variety of places kept the tour intellectually alive. Johny's framework at El Molino was inspirational, grounded and profound. Oasis Al Haman offered a fascinating cluster of regenerative projects. The 40 years of living community at Los Portales stood as quiet proof that another way of life is not only possible but sustainable. And Maitreya felt like the other end of that timeline, a dream still taking shape, full of the particular energy of beginnings. Resonancia's hospitality wove through all of it: generous and warm in a way that makes you feel held rather than toured through.
If you're considering something similar: come with curiosity more than conclusions, and be open to the group itself as part of the experience. The diversity of fellow travellers is part of what you'll bring home. Highly recommended, without hesitation.

Participating in the Spain Ecovillage Tour was one of the most meaningful, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally rich experiences I’ve had in many years. What Ecovillage Tours creates is much more than travel. It is a carefully curated relational experience that allows participants not only to visit intentional communities, but to temporarily experience forms of collective life from the inside.
— Carmen Oquendo-Villar
Amazing people looking for meaning and connection. Very powerful transformations in the group. The Guides went all in to make it GREAT for everyone.

What’s the alternative?
You could try visiting intentional communities on your own, except that…
Many communities are not open to the public and, if they are, the founders will not give you their undivided attention as a just normal passer-through.
Figuring out the logistics of getting yourself around the country is a headache and you’ll have no immediate support if something goes awry.
Traveling alone isn’t as nourishing or nearly as fun journeying with a small group in an intentionally held container for connection.
It’ll take years of relationship building and financial investment to even come close to the experience that Ecovillage Tours is able to offer… because we’ve done all that work for you already!
