Our tour will begin at 2pm local time on August 29th at The Roslyn Center.

We can pick you up at the Richmond Airport or another nearby location around noon on August 29th.

Be sure to let us know your travel plans so we can coordinate to pick you up. Alternatively, you can take an Uber/taxi to enjoy Richmond that morning and meet us at the Roslyn Center at 2pm.

Our formal programming will at noon local time on Sept 6th in Asheville, NC.

Participants are welcome to join for lunch at a local restaurant in Asheville or continue to their next destination.

Rides to the airport or nearby locations will be available after lunch for those who need transport.

Participants wishing to return to Richmond (where we started the tour) will be responsible for their own transportation.

You are responsible for booking your own flight, which we recommend you book as far in advance as possible to get the best price. 

We recommend flying into Richmond International Airport (RIC) located in Sandston, Virginia. Participants wishing to fly out of RIC for their return trip will be responsible for their own transportation from our drop off point in Asheville, North Carolina.

We recommend flying out of Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) located in Fletcher, North Carolina. Alternatively, you may find cheaper flights from the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) located in Greer, South Carolina, about an hour’s drive outside Asheville.

Transport is available both to/from RIC and AVL airports. If you have a flight at an airport further away, transport may be available for an additional service fee or we will help you find your own transport.

In Virginia, late August to early September is a time of transition, marking the end of summer and the beginning of fall. During this period, the weather remains warm but starts to hint at the cooler temperatures to come. Daytime temperatures across the state generally range from 70°F to 90°F, though they can occasionally reach the mid-90s°F in some areas, particularly in the more southerly and eastern regions. The warmth of the day often gives way to cooler, more comfortable evenings, with temperatures dipping into the 60s°F.

Health insurance coverage is required on all of our trips. You can work with your current insurance provider to get extended coverage, however, it may be more affordable to work with a company that specializes in travel health insurance.

For example, Ecovillage Tour staff use World Nomads. Here you can find a simple form to fill and can be purchased easily online.

Be sure to check if your insurance covers trip interruptions, baggage loss, etc.
