Flights
We encourage you to book your flight as soon as possible, as the better deals are often found in advance. We recommend flying in and out of Milano Malpensa Airport (MXP).
Kindly share both your arrival and departure flight information in your participants form, and notify us immediately of any delays once on route. -
Start
Our tour will begin at the MXP Airport. Participants are asked to plan their arrival at the airport to be before 3pm local time on the tour start date for pick up.
If arriving by train, it is easy to travel to the airport to meet the group there. Here are travel instructions: https://www.milanomalpensa-airport.com/en/from-to/by-train
Meeting point: Please plan to meet the group on September 30th at 3:00 PM at the Milan Malpensa Airport – Terminal 1, between Gates 5 and 6. Giovanni and Safir will be there holding a small sign that says “Ecovillage Tours.” Here is the exact GPS location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ewoY2HKy51ERCs1J7
Our tour will conclude back at the MXP Airport by noon on the last day of the tour. Lunch and lodging is not included on the last day of the tour. Kindly book your flights for that afternoon or stay on in Italy if you choose.

Health insurance coverage is required on all of our trips. You can work with your current insurance provider to get extended coverage, however, it may be more affordable to work with a company that specializes in travel health insurance. For example, Ecovillage Tour staff use World Nomads. Click the “Get a Quote” button to fill out a simple form and easily purchase the insurance online. Be sure to check if your insurance covers trip interruptions, baggage loss, etc.

Though we cover all your meals and activities during the trip, you'll want some money on hand for souvenirs, extra drinks, and incidentals. We recommend using a credit card with no foreign transaction fees for most purchases—just be sure to choose to pay in euros (not dollars) when asked. If you need cash, use your debit card at a bank ATM in Italy for the best exchange rate. Avoid airport or tourist-area exchange kiosks, which often have poor rates and high fees. Some travelers like to order a small amount of euros from their bank before the trip for peace of mind. And don’t forget to notify your bank about your travel plans!

For a short trip like this, you may not need a SIM card at all—most phone plans let you make international calls and texts over Wi-Fi, which is available at our accommodations and many public places.
If you do want mobile data on the go, we recommend getting a local SIM or eSIM to stay connected during your travels. The easiest option is to download an eSIM in advance through providers like Airalo or Holafly, which work as soon as you land. If you prefer a physical SIM, major Italian carriers like Vodafone, TIM, or WindTre have affordable tourist plans available at airports and in city shops. Most of these include plenty of data for maps, messaging, and staying in touch with the group.
